Believing in People
A principle of having influence is believing in people. The way any leader has impact and influence is believing in the people you are leading.
The genesis of this principle is theology because God's method to transform us is his love for us - which translates into God's belief in us. He sees our destiny and believes in our potential. He not only believes he acts in accordance with what he sees us becoming. Since the whole of the Old Testament speaks to the inability of human effort meeting God's standards, He resolved the issue through his son Jesus' sacrifice. Now we have access to a relationship with God and with that comes an ability to change in ways never before possible.
Essentially God was making sure that we understood that we did not have to change to become part of His family.
Our motivation to change comes from a desire within us rather than an external pressure to perform for others - because we now know God's unconditional love. We know God believes in us and that is the basis of our change.
So, the way we expand our leadership influence is, in part, a heart issue. It is believing in those we lead.
Believe in someone and make sure they know it. Where would we be if God had kept silent.
